Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people with low vision, hearing loss, limited movement or memory changes.

Our goal

We built this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Most text goes further, with the stronger AAA contrast level.

Ways to make it easier

  • Larger text. Use A, A+ or A++ at the top of the page, or in the menu, to make all text bigger. Your choice is remembered on this device.
  • Calm mode. Turns off moving effects, including the 3D garden’s motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, Calm mode is on automatically. You can switch it on or off at the top of the page, in the menu or at the bottom of any page.
  • Readable type. Body text uses Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for readers with low vision.
  • Keyboard. Everything works with a keyboard, with a clear outline showing where you are.
  • Photos and the 3D garden. Every photo has a text description. Each stop in the 3D garden also has a written description and a real photo.
  • Forms. Clear labels, plain error messages, no time limits and no puzzles.
  • A phone number on every page. If anything is easier by phone, call 805-280-9158.

Known limits

  • The 3D garden is a visual model. Everything it shows is also in text and real photos on the same page.
  • Some of our photos are older and lower in resolution.
